I Have A Friend

I have:
wealth, companionship, smiles, love,
Because I have a friend.

I see new things,
I learn each day,
I receive warmth,
I get understanding,
Because I have a friend.

I give:
compassion, caring, love, understanding,
Because I have a friend.

In you I see:
The benefits of friendship,
The need for understanding,
The wanting to belong,
The happiness of sharing.

So I must ask you now,
Please always be my friend.
