Using WebSpeak Script Script

This section describes how you can finalize your WebSpeak project and add the script to your web page.

Method 1: If your page is new, and you want to start with no content

If you are starting a new page, all you have to do is just go to the File Menu, and select "Export to HTML". Then select a folder and file name of the file to save, and WebSpeak will save your file as an HTML file, example, index.html. If you double click on the HTML file saved, you will see a BLANK page. However, the character will do what you told it to do.

Then, you can edit the file using your favorite web editor (like Microsoft FrontPage or Netscape Composer), and add your web content. Please leave any WebSpeak added scripts.

Method 2: If you already have a page, and want to add the Speaking Character

If you already have a webpage, and you want to make that page talk with what you have programmed in WebSpeak. Here is what you do:

bulletOpen your webpage, for example open your index.html
bulletGo to WebSpeak, and go to the Edit Menu, and select "Copy Script Code"
bulletGo to your opened index.html, and paste the script after the </HTML> tag in your page. If you do not have an </HTML> tag, just paste at the very bottom of your file.
